Halloween 1978 Review

Could any movie be any more appropriate to review tonight? I think not :]

Halloween, a masterpiece which everyone has talked about for decades and now I review it.. people have already said pretty much all there is to this movie and I don't want to repeat what they have said, so heres my review full of odd tid bits which I found amusing or annoying.

[There are going to be spoilers here but hey if Halloween hasn't already been spoiled for you, you must have been living under a rock for the past couple decades]

The movie opens quite nicely, I liked the way the film 180's us in the beginning by building tension around a killer lurking, which leads us to imagine a massive man holding a bloody machete which although turns out partially true.. Still surprises the hell out of us as the killer is a little boy and not the psychopath we were imagining.

Say 'totally' one more time ..
The film really builds the characters off well and that makes us care about them (actually, can't say that for all of them, some of them are f*ing annoying). The main character Laurie, we can connect with her as she is the 'little nice geeky person who studies, wants to do a bit more but is a little too shy to do so' type of person which I find very easy to sympathise with. Also, Donald Pleasence steals the show as his acting connects us with the core of the film, especially due to his role as Michaels doctor. The one line he makes about Michaels eyes displaying no emotion and true evil is quite spooky and brilliantly sets the mood.

The killings in the film are a little twisted as the character never speaks much at all and the brutality of the kills only emphasises the freaky effect the silence of the character brings. I especially liked the kill where Michael killed the annoying slut brutally, put her on a bed and put a gravestone over her.

The dialogue is a little annoying from one character, just one. The annoying slut of a friend Laura has, the character says "Totally" so many times that when Michael finally silenced her, I gave a standing ovation to Mikey (yes I'm nicknaming him).

The final chase scene is quite intense and ends the movie quite well. Across the movie, the theme of Halloween is consistently set and builds an atmosphere connected with the holiday. One last thing I absolutely loved was the way all the houses belonging to the characters, are on one street and so when characters move from one location to the next. Its literally crossing the street, and this small set up not only makes the area more memorable for us but also, builds an atmosphere for the movie where we feel truly indulged into the atmosphere.

Halloween is a great movie which still holds up as good if not better than today's horror films... Goes and looks at the new 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street... F*ck it! Halloween holds up better than most horror films ever made and if your even mildly interested in horror movies.. Check this out.

I give Halloween 10 Totally's out of 10

One Day (Review-ish)

Okay so I watched One Day quite a while ago in the cinema, knowing only that it was a film with anne hathaway in it I stepped into the cinema and kept no expectations. Well if anything, I actually thought that it was going to be a crappy love story which it did not turn out to be, it was this life changing movie which I enjoyed to freaking bits..

Okay so I don't care much about the love between the 'guy' and 'anne hathaway', they'r people who like each other and yeah, I didn't care much at all about the premise. Anyways, lets get to the important bit of the film. The film speaks about life, life and how unpredictable it is. There's always steps in our lives which we take too seriously and stress ourselves over. Sometimes, we should just go with the flow of life and live ourselves. An example, when I watched One Day I was a week away from enrolling at a college and thinking about all the people i'll be leaving, the subjects ill be choosing, the job I could do... I was basically stressing myself to death. This film gave me a message that life is more than what you think, at a step you might think your going to loose people, not choose the right job, etc... but the point is that life is just too unpredictable to waste thinking of the future, and this point was fully highlighted in the film. Life should be lived in the present, you could loose contact with someone but meet them at a later stage and regain that contact, you might like someone, forget them and totally fall for them when you see them 15 years later. Heck, you don't even know that by the time you finish your uni course if you would want to carry that degree and use it for the job it gets you. While you should plan ahead a bit and be smart, you should never forget to live in the present, and you should never forget to feel the essence of life which just exists around you and every decision you make.

Never stop and worry that one thing you have slipped, missed, or chosen will change your life forever. It won't, people you might forget now, hey, maybe you'l meet em someday at a cafe and get contact again. Never forget, out of all the planning you do as your scared thinking of the future... Never forget, to live your life. Live every second of it, every decision, every time you lose a friend, every failure, every achievement, every time you say "we'l keep contact" and never speak again... live each moment. People forget to live their lives because they are too busy looking at the future... Never fear the future, just live in the present.

Ohh and emm, the acting was good... some awkward scenes but they were forgiveable. The relationship between the two people was fully felt, some good side characters too and capping it all with a good twist; I liked the film from start to finish!

Still from One Day
I don't know what I can give it, its just hit me so hard I can never guarantee that it could do the same for others.

Personally I'd give it a

See that sweater?... His grandmother knit it, Bad*ss!

That one was close, I was really stuck between the 3 but if I didn't give it to HP in the end, I would be lying to myself.

The Son of The Mask

In my childhood I was a massive Mask fan, you know the funny cartoon with the green faced guy in the banana yellow suit. The show was so popular it even got a hit movie which starred Jim Carrey! It was all brilliant for the Mask and its fans until this abominal dog turd hit the movie theatres.

This movie begins with a dog finding the mask and soon giving it to the baby of some random guy who we do not know at all. The movie then displays its sheer stupidity by creating a "God of Mischief" (Oh No! <sarcasm>) called 'Loki' (honestly, thats the name), the "God of Mischief" himself wants the mask back or else he will be in trouble with his dad "Odin" (seriously bad names must be a family tradition). The supposed "God of Mischief" tries to get the mask back from the baby throughout the whole film combining painfully dull slapstick comedy and horrendous scripting.

The films plot is pathetic (surprise surprise!) the plot is predictable and uses stupid and overused cliche's to progress; providing a predictable ending which makes you wanna chop your limbs off. The films CG makes super mario look like a masterpeice (okay im just exaggerating here). The baby looks extremely fake and one word 'CREEPY'. The baby is actually scary in this movie, I have watched some horrors in my time but 'Son of The Mask' holy sh**does it scare the crap out of me, don't believe me? here

The films full of over acting and I dont blame the actors; after reading the script I'm not surprised they didn't get plastic surgeries and ship themselves to the island from Lost. A quote from the script (don't read if your squeamish this is nightmarishly bad):

Loki: Thanks for dropping by
Museum security guard: Dropping?
Loki: Bye!

People say that I should go easy on this cause its a 'kids film' well you know what, NO! This film single handedly killed the Mask franchise, destroyed a bit of my childhood, gave cancer to monkies in saudi arabia and is a total pathetic showcase of how low humanity can go. This movie should be exterminated from existence and should serve as a reminder that slapstick comedy with dull plots, forgettable characters cannot carry a movie on by itself.

I give this movie 2 rotten green masks out of 10

Rise of the Planet of the apes Review

The apes are here! This is a review of "Rise of the Planet of the apes" (Completely stupid name) by a person who hasn't seen anything planet apes related so here it goes...
Now apes basically wake up one day and say "man ... F*ck these humans for enslaving us" and they start tearing humanity down. When I ever imagined an "ape-pocalypse" I thought it would be mad, they would be pulling our hairs and biting our ears off (only if they have an ape version of mike tyson). But noo... the apes are smarter than us, they plan stuff properly and try to get what they want with maximum planning and minimum mayhem. Its totally amazing and caught me by surprise.

Now lets be more proffessional, the movie begins in a lab with a <SURPRISE> science. The scientist makes a medicine of somewhat which can cure brain diseases including cancer and so he starts testing it on an ape. He tests it on her and finds out that the medicine not only fixes diseases but makes the ape extremely intelligent.. the medicine would not have the same effect on humans sadly. Something happens... ape dies and man has her baby with him. The baby carries his mothers genes which had the intelligence due to the gene. The baby ape now grows up with this scientist and becomes a part of their family. The film is written and directed in such a brilliant manor that I actually really wanted to spend more time with the characters in the movie. There is a part in the film in which you see the ape "Ceaser" stop loving humanity and start hating it due to their treatment of him. When that part came, due to the brilliance of the film and its special effects I really felt bad for Ceasure and got so emotionally attached to him.

The film carries you across it in no time, keeping you entertained at all times! Even though this is an "Ape-pocalypse" do not expect massive explosions and 'bloom, blaws'.. The movie focuses more on the characters and makes you like and understand them. When Ceasure put his hand (paw?) up and roared I actually said in my head "go on Ceasure, these humans treated you like sh*t.. get your freedom!". It's actually mad how much you will understand the ape's feelings even though he has little to no dialogue in the movie.

The actors also did a tremendous job as that women from slum dog millionaire and green goblin from spiderman did their absolute best acting and were quite convincing. Tom Felton.. well he was Malfoy from Harry Potter ...always a sneering d*ck, I'm surprised they didn't call this Harry Potter 9 The Malfoy Chronicles. One actor I absolutely loved was Andy Serkis as he did the role of Ceasure the monkey. This man was so freaking convincing and kicked major as* (the same way he did playing golem in the Lord of the Rings).

One more thing to add here.. you know that Tom Felton? that sneering Malfoy that Harry Potter never got to beating the absolute sh*t out of (well kinda). Just wait and watch Harry, just wait and watch this movie... these apes do in their first movie what you couldnt do to Malfoy for 8 movies. Watch and learn... chosen one? pfff

The only flaw I could find in this movie is the CG looks a little hokey at start and the name of the movie sucks but other than that, this is one of the best movies i've ever seen!

By the time the movie ended I checked my watch and said "Whaaat!" the time flies extremely fast and you just wish you could see more! Its an amazing movie and hit me by total surprise. I freaking LOVE this movie! its sooo damn good I wanna see it again... i wanna glue a tv screen to my eye lids so i could watch this in my sleep. This sh*t is goood!!

I give Rise of the Planet of the Apes 10 Intelligent Monkeys out of 10

The Dark Knight - Thoughts on Catwoman's Costume ...

Okay the dark knight first released images of Bane in his costume and well I was underwhelmed and did write an article about it.

Now... here's Catwoman, played by Anne Hathaway (She's hot!) and here is the image of here in her costume... Bane disappointed me, c'mon Catwoman redeem Batman:

Ahhh Okay... What the F*ck is this? Was she being hired by the spy kids and accidentally stepped into the Dark Knight. How could the man who made the world fear the joker churn out these two horse sh*t of costumes?! Okay I'm being hysterical but that's because I love Batman and loved the Dark Knight, I am really fearing that the next instalment will be total garbage. Even if its not garbage I am now certain that it will never be even close to the  masterpiece 'the dark knight'.
The 2004 Catwoman

Lets assess this costume, its just plain black leather and she's wearing some shades which look very 'electronic'. She just looks like a generic spy woman, Ann Hathaway looked a lot like this in the film 'Get Smart' where she played a killer spy. There is not much, I might even go as far to say nothing, there is nothing 'Catwomany' about this! The Catwoman in the 2004 film looked better than this because she looked like Catwoman, Catwoman has her special look and Anne Hathaway right now just looks like a spy lady with an innocent face (oh and she's hot).

I hope that this is not the full costume and she does something to redeem her Catwoman look. Maybe she can ditch the shades, get herself some leather hat, get a whip, look aggressive and then.. Ahh I don't know. Honestly I hope they do something cause this is disappointing.

The Dark Knight - Thoughts on Bane's full costume ...

tom hardy batman bane 04
Here's Bane in his 'costume' for the upcoming Batman film. I don't know what, but there is something wrong with this outfit.. or maybe.. there's something wrong with Bane. Personally I did not want Bane in the next Dark Knight, I would have preferred someone else. This Bane now that he's here, in the Dark Knight world where everything has a realistic approach, this Bane just looks a bit too real. In the comics and cartoons he was scary because he was unrealistically massive and powerful. This film, he's just a big bald dude in a winter coat... I don't know maybe in the movie he will take some dr*gs and get larger ditching the coat... something.. hopefully would make him look better.

3D sucks and why I dislike it so much

Okay so 3D is the new Hollywood trend and we have so many films adapting to 3D. Sometimes its actually hard to find a film in 2D compared to 3D ( Toy story 3 did that -_-" ). Here are my personal reasons why 3D just sucks:

It adds nothing to the experience or dimension, our mind perceives the video on screen with a third dimension ( the principle of perception ).

It is a distraction, it gives headaches and nauseates a lot of people ( Me! ). It also is distracting when we have to wear the stupid glasses which make the film darker and harder to see clearly.

It charges us more in theatres :[

When your watching serious drama's in 3D, the 3D is literally stupid and does nothing to the movie. Even in some movies with action like Harry Potter the 3D does nothing.

Sometimes now they force us to watch movies in 3D by having 3D only showings in a lot of cinema's ( again toy story 3 did that -_-" ).

Films that tried to be the next Harry Potter

Harry Potter, a film series based on books about magic, teenagers and all types of folklore. Here are some films that in my opinion tried being the next Harry Potter by creating films on a book series about magic, teenagers and folklore.

Avatar the last air bender:
this film is based on one of my favourite cartoon ever made, period. But the film failed due to its hilariously bad acting, terrible script and disgusting director.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning thief:
never watched it but the trailer looked quite bad so I stayed away. Some of my friends that did watch it, lets just say they weren't too excited about it either.

The Narnia Series:
Okay the first film was quite alright in this series but afterwards this series just bombed and made horrible films.

The Golden Compass:
I think the movie was alright but the series just didn't make enough money at the box office and so couldn't spawn a sequel.

The Spiderwick Chronicles:
This film I have not watched because I could not bothered for another film where a kid discovers a magical world inhabited by fairies, goblins and ogres. I heard it was alright but I guess it just didn't make enough money to spawn sequels.

Harry Potter Defeats Star Wars

For years Star Wars has been the highest grossing movie franchise of all time until a couple days ago when Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 tipped the scales over to potters side. Harry Potter as a movie franchise has now has grossed over $2.223 billion domestically compared to star wars $2.218 billion. Harry Potter has had 8 movies while Star Wars has only had 6 so we will spare Star Wars and say that it was a fair and even battle but in the end the Harry Potter franchise must be commended for keeping a strong line up of consistent films which kept entertaining a whole generation of kids and adults.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows PT 2 3D Sucks!

Okay, I'm home now with a massive headache thanks to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 3D show that was on tonight. Having already seen the film in 2D, I just went again with a couple friends to see it a second time in 3D, and after seeing the film I wish we had went to the 2D showing. The 3D added nothing to the experience and only nauseated me, gave me a headache, made the movie darker, lowered the resolution and most importantly, the 3D added NOTHING to the movie. It added nothing to the movie and only showed what the 2D version showed. The only difference was me getting a headache and the ticket price being more expensive. 3D sucks in pretty much all movies except a few and especially in Harry Potter, 3D sucks and should be avoided!

Could the new Spiderman movie do to Spiderman what Dark Knight did for Batman?

Batman was always a beloved hero amongst the comic book fans and the kids (Meee) who watched the cartoons/shows. When it arrived to the film business, Batman always lacked a good movie series and was the target of enormous ridicule from people across the whole world. This was frustrating as fans which loved the dark side of the Batman comic books could never see their beloved dark hero on the screens. This however all changed as the Dark Knight series came out and blew our minds with its dark tone and kicka** cinematography.

The question with the new Spiderman reboot arises, could the new Spiderman movie do what Dark knight did for Batman?

I personally think that it's a little too early to judge but just by randomly looking at the new Spiderman's trailer I am going to have to say no. This is because Batman always had an extremely dark tone to the character and the movies were extremely childish on the opposite side of the spectrum. For Spiderman, although there are some dark tones in the comic books, I do not believe that Spiderman has the material to surprise the audiences with a new attractive tone (not saying it needs one but it would be nice and surprisingly attractive). Also I just saw the new Spiderman's trailer and I am personally a little disappointed so this was an expected reaction from me.

The new spider man movie , released a trailer huh ...

The new movie titled "The Amazing Spiderman" released its first trailer today. The trailer was not that interesting to me as I already know the whole spiderman story. I did like the actors and thought that they fit the universe well "emma stone!". I have to say one thing though, the whole first person view spiderman view they did was not that impressive as I've seen better first person travel in the game called "Mirrors edge", sorry columbia pictures but try harder cause this trailer did not impress or interest me.
The trailer to the new movie:

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows PT 2 Review

It's here! oh yeah it is definitely here! the end if nigh! etc etc blah blah wands galore. [no spoilers here]

The movie this time around was directed by David Yates and was directed extremely well and kept me on the edge of my seat from start till finish. The movie begins by instantly pitting you in the middle of the story which is what it should do. It cleverly spends less time outside and more time inside Hogwarts. This gives the Hogwarts finale a massive amount of screentime and gives us the audience a truly spectacular story and fireworks display.
Nevil Longbottom! See that sweater? Badass! :D

Okay so the movie is finally here, the one we've all been waiting for soo long! Harry Potter finally says "Enuf of this sh*t voldemort you goin' down!" Finally we get to see some Kicka*s action and we get the blood, lights & avada kedavra's we've all wanted for soo long. Here is the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows PT2 review

The acting in the film is surprisingly amazing! As a fan of the book I was afraid how Daniel Radcliff would handle the massive emotional job that Harry Potter has to handle. But I was pleasantly surprised as he handled it well, since we are already here in the acting department, I need to say, Alan "Severus Snape" Rickman WOW! You blew me away with your acting, I have never cried so much at a film man seriously you destroyed the acting. Some of the best acting I have ever seen and since Snape is my favourite character in the series I am proud of you man, you F***in Rock! Everybody else did really well too, Ron made me laugh in a film full of sad stories and Hermoine was always amazing in both sad and brainy bits.

The special effects were really good and I never felt that the effects looked bad or fake.

The story, now I need to say this, after 7 movies and 6 books I was afraid of Harry Potters ending as it had to surpass the mountain of expectations everyone (including me) had and I need to say this, it exceeded all expectations. Nothing in my imagination beats this and It is the best ending that could have possibly happened.

As a book fan I can confidently say that the film was extremely true to the book and although there were a couple hiccups the film all in all was amazing and satisfied the movie and book lover in me. The film was almost perfect in every way and if you watch The deathly hallows part 1 with this movie, you will see why these two form together to make the best harry potter film ever made! Potter fans and bookworm Potter fans all rejoice and go watch this film or else ... or else ... "AVADA KEDAVRA"

Pretty Much Perfect, I give this movie 10 wands out of 10

Harry Potter Vs Star Wars

Harry Potter Vs Star Wars :P

My Personal most anticipated moment of Harry Potter and the deathly hallows

Okay now before you read this any further , please this might contain minor spoilers

Harry Potter is almost here ! Hell yeah! and well I am so excited I am jumping in excitement while I write this. I have personally read the books and love them to bits so now that the movie is coming I want to talk about my personal favourite part from harry potter and the deathly hallows, this part is what I need done properly! or I would hate the movie forever.

Before we tread any further I need to say my favourite character is Snape, yes the ol' Severus Snape and that is because the deathly hallows falls into Snape's whole life from when he was a toddler to his current state. That flashback story sequence was a large part in the books and it blew me away. I personally still remember my reaction to when I first read it and I gotta say, I was shocked by how it was constructed, by how rich it was and everything I cant say in words. The actor for Snape is Alan Rickman and he is a master at his job so I have full trust in his acting for the part and well I will watch the movie on July 14 and will post my review on it then but for now, fingers crossed they get Snape's pasty back thingy and his ahem "death" , right.

Uncharted the movie, ahh they're re working on it!

F*** every gamer knows that video game movies suck A** and when we the uncharted lovers heard that the director for uncharted the movie had left the project, we all danced and said "Hoooorah".

But F*** ! they got another director, sure the director is the same guy who did limitless, that was a cool film but still I'm extremely sceptical and I'm hoping that the director leaves uncharted alone.

Space invaders movie?!

Okay Soooo..

They're making a Space Invaders movie LOL!

Officially out of ideas ehh hollywood? whats next, pacman the movie ohh wait already done..

Why Megan Fox was fired from Transformers 3

Megan Fox the actress who got the opportunity of a lifetime when Michael Bay appointed her as the love interest in the transformer movies was recently fired from the third instalment.
Megan Fox Transformers wallpaper 10
The reason Michael Bay fired her from the third movie was because Megan Fox made a comment in an interview saying that Michael Bay tried to be like Hitler when he was on set. This comment upset Michael Bay (and it should) and so he fired her.

I think Fox should learn not to talk sh** about people who give her opportunities like that and most importantly, she shouldn't talk shit about people who giver her the salary.

Hangover 2 Review

Hangover 2, the sequel to one of the most highest grossing comedy films of all time is here, is it funny or is it just a cash in on the hangover name?

I am going to sum this review up as fast as I can, Hangover 2 is the 'ghostbusters 2' of this decade. It copies everything from Hangover 1 ( literally , Hangover 1 had a tiger well in Hangover 2 you get a monkey ). This makes the film extremely forgettable. The movie this time around is darker and depends on shock value rather than pure comedy. Seriously Hangover 2 I never want to see a bisexual monkey lick a Korean guys nob ever in my life, it wasn't funny but freakin' weird. The film swaps a character around and changes him into a 3 dimensional character near the end of the movie, the movie does this so that the film can progress and untie the mangled stories it creates (hint, that character is the one with 9 fingers).

Now Hangover 2 is not a bad film. It does make me laugh my a** off at parts and truly does make me care for some of the characters within the film but conclusively, the film falls short. It may seem as a good short blast of entertainment but by the time you leave the cinema you will forget this film. 'Forgettable' the word that describes and plagues this movie more than anything else. The film eventually would be a good rental but it is not worth the cinema price and definitely not worth buying on DVD or Blu ray. This movie disappointed me so much, I did not hate it, I just think it has lost potential which saddens me more than anything else.

I give Hangover 2 , 6 Bisexual monkeys out of 10

6/10
