Controversial Music Video

Okay I know this song is quite old but I watched it's video recently and found that it's quite freaking controversial.

The song is empty walls by serj tankian, the song I think talks about Iraq and the war going on there. How the government feeds us information and makes us believe what they want us to believe.

The bit I found scary was in the beginning, the song begins with a kid throwing a paper air plane and bringing down two massive towers of blocks a girl was building. Yeah imagine that.. Throughout the song there are more references and in the lyrics it is clear that something political is hinted, it is the beginning that truly gets me.

Staind album review 2011

Staind is back! and this time they are truly going back to their heavy metal roots. Is that a good thing though? Last time I listened to their heavy metal album 'torment', it tormented my ears (pun intented). I have personally always been a fan of the slower, grunge-ier staind songs rather than the screaming and extremely loud guitar. I am a fan of heavy metal but just never thought that staind did heavy metal that well compared to their other softer styles. Well thats what I though! so lets get into the new album:

1: Eyes Wide Open : A nice opener to the heavy album, the drums in the songs beginning, almost signal a change from Stainds other albums such as 'Chapter V'. The song is nice, its quite good with a nice mix of shouting and singing.

2: Not Again: One of my favourite heaviest Staind songs ever, its awesome!


3: Failing: I quite like the guitar and drums in this one, the lyrics are also good and so its an overall good song.


4: Wannabe: Meh, too much rap, not my style really

5: Throw It All Away: I like this song :D

6: Take a breath, overall its a good song, it has a nice solo which slides in perfectly into the song and although is not a 'great' solo, makes a nice enough entrance and exit to add a positive point to the song.

7: The Bottom: Like it lots n lots

8: Now: Its alright,

9: Paper Wings, Quite a seriously toned song, could be interpreted into Aaron Lewis telling you to commit suicide :P (but thats just silly), it reminds me of Stainds first song ever made on the 'Tormented' album where the song began with Aaron saying "I want to die *gun sound", this song although is similar in some terms to Wannabe, still manages to be an entertaining song.

10: Something to Remind You: Okay say what you want but if I hear Aaron Lewis's voice and its a ballad.. I love it. His voice has the magic which just works for ballads and so this song is my favourite song from this album. You could call this song the 'It's been a while' of this album.

Overall, I gotta say, this is the best heavy-Staind album but overall this isn't even close to the genius of 'Break the Cycle'. For metal heads and people who generally like Staind's heavy stuff though, this might just be the best album they have made.

As much as I like heavy metal, when it comes to Staind I personally prefer the softer and grunge-ier side more and so this album was a small disappointment. I don't know if I can call it a disappointment seeing as I knew that it was going to be heavy.

I give Staind a 8/10 It is a great album, Its just, every time I see a new album by them I always think of the genius of 'Break the Cycle'. I recommend it to people who like Staind/Metal/Rock/Sliced Bread...

Bands that suck at performing live .. "Creed"

Creed... One of the bands I do not particularly like because they have only written one song I have actually liked. Gotta give them some credit though, that one song I do like.. is one I absolutely love. Its called One Last Breath and beautiful's the word to describe it.. the singers voice and guitar blend in a soothing way and it truly relaxes you when you listen to it...

Wait I'm getting side tracked... Ummmm yeah.. Creed? What the h*ll? I just saw a video of them performing One Last Breath on youtube Live and they sucked so bad.. well the singer *shivers*... disgusting man! What the hell were you doing. I understand that you went through some messed up stuff and damaged your voice but if its that bad man then stop, that performance was actually hurting the image of the band and the song in my mind.

Truly Inspirational People

Sometimes in life you feel down and say to yourself the words "I can't". During that moment of depression something comes your way which makes you realise that in this world nothing is impossible. If you have the right amount of dedication.. you can achieve the impossible. The other day I was in a depressed mood searching the internet (like a teenager of my age should rightfully do so) and I came across this video of a man playing guitar with his feet. This video really hit me in the head and made me realise the lesson of perseverance. When odds are stacked against you.. no matter how large they are, true willpower can fuel you to achieve. All you need to do is pick yourself up with all your confidence, look at the world and say     "I am".

Okay so me and a good friend picked up this beauty today.. we took it back to his house, plugged it into and amp and we were both amazed by this guitars quality.

The guitar first of all looks beautiful, its red flame glossy finish is beautiful to look at and makes you want to pick this guitar up and play it the very instant you look at it.

Prices : £150-£200

The guitar sounds quite good too! We tried the average 4, clean, crunch, metal and insane sound styles and I need to say, I loved the clean and metal sound styles. Not the biggest fan of crunch even though it works well...Insane though? It's good but I think I need more time with amps and the guitar to understand the metal filled power in that setting.

The guitar has a very comfortable body with curves designed to suit your arms comfortably.

All the songs worked so well! I have instantly fallen in love with this guitar and it has given me a thirst for some electric action. I recommend it to all beginner/intermediate/'dont wanna spend too much money' people. This guitar will blow people's minds no matter where you are, your room, a concert or Mariah Carey's Bathroom! Music for when your depressed

Do you ever feel down, does you mind ever get lonely, okay I'm going to stop talking like an advert and will openly speak. We get depressed man, sh*tty things overwhelm us and we just feel like crap. At that time I do what I call the turtle, I go on my laptop, turn the music on and create this shell around me where I speak to people on msn and read on the internet while listening to music.


The music I like to listen to is mainly metal for when I'm depressed but there are a couple pop/light rock songs so don't run away... yet:

• Don't talk to strangers 

This song speaks a lot about the things we see in life which we would be happy with, maybe a successful relationship would make us happier, maybe us being more accepted by people would make us happier, maybe we just see a location as the haven which could change our lives. This song speaks directly to you and says "hey that woman your dreaming of will bring you down, that 'heaven' you see is only really 'hell', that dark hallway you keep dancing in will make you vulnerable, all those things are bad for you because your sacrificing your personality to get them. Your personality is beautiful and these people who treat you like shit are all 'strangers' and you should have self respect because your better than them. They are trying to penetrate your mind and feed you sh*t, trying to tell you your not good enough for them, 'you need to change this or that about yourself to 'fit in', well its all bullsh*t because you don't need to change... "Don't talk to strangers cause there only there to do you harm... Don't go to heaven cause its really only hell... Don't dance in darkness, you'll stumble and then your vulnerable.. Don't smell the flowers, there an evil drug to make you loose your mind". All those are metaphors for things we sometimes depend our happiness on.


Personally: I love this song because I have been let down by 'friends' who always wanted me to change for them, they wanted me to be more outrageous like them, they wanted me to do stupid things to please them, in the end... they didn't want 'me'. They saw a different person and wanted to mould me into that. I ended up with a lot of pain and sorrow but later I found myself and got some self respect. This song helped me every step of the way in finding that person I had lost inside of myself due to the 2 years of 'trying to fit in'. After this song, I stopped talking to strangers...

Other songs that are great too for depression and you should try them:

• AC/DC "Highway to Hell" : 'whatever your doing people think your going to hell for it cause they are too ignorant and arrogant to understand, ohh and also, they hypocritical towards you, well, if your going to hell cause of the way you are then you are on the 'highway to hell' and you love it! 

• Apocalyptica "I Don't Care" : There's that person bringing you down, well if your one of the people who just can't push people away and still try to be nice to people who treat you like sh*t then hear this. You need to step up to those people and say "if you were dead or alive.. I don't care"

• Coldplay "Fix You" : Song really speaks for itself, its basic in its lyrics and really hits the core of your emotions due to that.

• Staind "Fade" : This song is about people in your life, people you depend on, people you look up to for help and all they do is walk away from you. Most of the time it can be a parent and that is what I always think of when I listen to this song. The song says that nothing changes in life, if you live in sh*t, the sh*t wont change, all you can do is change yourself. That's how a difference is made "I only know that I can change, everything else just stays the same"... You need to change yourself or your life will always be like this, change yourself and 'step out of the darkness your life's been in'.

• Delain "See Me In Shadow" : This song is about the times when you 'hide in the shadows of your life to hid your imperfections'. I think this song is a lot about not being perfect and accepting yourself, stepping out of the shadow in which your living in and truly living your life in full colour with all your insecurities... because in the end, no one is perfect so embrace yourself and accept yourself just the way you are.

• Nickelback "How You Remind Me" : This song caused an 'epiphany' inside of me when I first heard it, it really made me see things in my life that I have tried which were out of 'my element'. By that I mean, things I did under peer pressure or sheer stupidity due to the influence of the wrong people. This song made me think about all of them and truly look at myself in the core, in my mind... the place where nothing but my personality lies. 

• Seether "Yeah" : This song speaks about struggle, how in life you feel beat down everyday "I can't remember a better day.. one without giving up". The negatives in our daily lives can sometimes be very consistent and you can just feel like giving up, but you can't because life can be beautiful, you may be unable to see it right now because of the negativity but "you can't keep living in a broke mind.. so keep on running" and be consistent.

• Staind "It's Been Awhile" : This song talks about times when you really say to yourself 'when was the last time I was happy, when was the last time I held my head up high", you've always "F*cked things up... just like you always do" and your really saying to yourself "It's been Awhile since I could hold my head up high".

• System Of A Down "Roulette" : I think this song is for when you really like someone but have this weird confusion in which you ask yourself 'so it's not gonna work between us, but do I like that person? I don't but why do I feel upset that its not gonna work, why do I have this problem that I cannot explain'. Your emotions are a roulette sometimes, you may fall for a person and may yet feel as if you do not like them or in other cases you may like a person and might know that its not going to work between you two. At this moment you could try to tell yourself you do not like them but emotions are always a roulette and they change constantly making you feel confused yet saddened. Anyone who knows anything about roulette knows that the chances of success are extremely minimal and that are exactly the chances we have at successful emotions in life (when it comes to relationships).

• Three Days Grace "Pain" : In life you experience so much pain, both physical and mental. The reason you feel the pain is because your alive, you should appreciate that and be happy that you are capable of feeling pain. Like the pain, embrace it, love the pain and love living like this because "you'd rather feel pain than nothing at all". Also do not miss the chance you might have in life because if you take the chance and fail you would feel anger and agony but if you miss the chance you would feel misery which is worse than all of them.

• Three Days Grace "Get Out Alive" : Don't put your life in someone's hands, don't hide in your mistakes, if you want to get out alive ... run for your life. Don't be stuck in old mistakes, problems or addiction. You need to run now because if "you stay too long you would only burn on the inside" but if you "go you could hope to make it to the other side"

• Three Days Grace "Never Too Late" : The title says it all, I personally feel as if two friends are at the top of the building and one wants to jump really badly while the other is speaking to him about their torn lives and the chances they still have as its "Never Too Late".

Lady Gaga 'Judas' Very Similar to Black Sabbath Song 'Bible Black'

The hit single 'Judas' by Lady Gaga is similar to 'Bible Black' by Black Sabbath. This is my interpretation of the two's lyrics, ultimately lyrics mean what ever you interpret them into so do not get all offended or annoyed.

Any ways, the song Judas has a meaning ... when you like something (Judas in this case), even if its bad for you, you get addicted to it and cannot stop yourself from liking it. People that try to take you away from that addiction, you would "break them down" and even though you know what's right for you "Jesus is my virtue", you would still go for that bad addiction "but Judas is the demon I cling to". That addiction to Judas would treat you bad "I'm just a fool, oh baby he's so cruel", but you would still be going back to it"but I'm still in love with Judas". The song ends with "Judas" being repeated to stabilise the point about the protagonist staying in love with Judas till the bitter end.

The song Bible Black came out before "Judas" , Waaaay Before! Okay now similarities begin. In Bible Black the message is the same, when you like something or are addicted to something evil 'the bible black' you can look at good things "light of religion" and be "blinded" , returning to your evil addiction "I've seen the light of religion, but the light has left me blind, take me back, I must have the Bible Black". The Bible treats the protagonist badly as it tells him "I wish you were dead!" in the first or so page and yet he still wants the Bible Black as it makes him "Feel closer to my(his) home". In the end the protagonist wants the Bible Black knowing about its traps as he knows that he "may not come back!" but the protagonist still ultimately chooses to read from the bible black "he's reading from the Bible Blaaaaaack".

The songs meanings are extremely similar and just substitute different items "Judas/Bible Black" to represent the protagonists addiction. Both know of their addictions cruel treatments and yet still want them. Both protagonists see the positive things 'light/Jesus' but willingly in the end choose their addiction till the bitter end.

Worst Lyrics I've Ever Heard...

Okay is it going to surprise you if I say that the song 'Friday' by Rebbeca Black has the worst lyrics I have ever heard. Here is a little lyrical analysis by me for Friday.

7am, waking up in the morning - [ 7am does sound like a nice time to wake up for school, thanks Rebbecca! ]
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs - [ emm so your establishing the fact that you have two stories in your house ]
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal - [ ohh emm , milk? right, milk is good for the bones so we should have cereal according to Rebecca ] 
Seein’ everything, the time is goin’ - [ did she fall asleep or some sh*t?, yeah theoretically time will fly when your eatling cereal unless you can construct a time machine to freeze time while you eat cereal (even Doc Brown would get confused at this) ]
Tickin’ on and on, everybody’s rushin’ - [ okay her clock is ticking and everybody's rushing, of course cause clocks make that ticking sound and at 7am in the morning her family might be getting late for work ]
Gotta get down to the bus stop - [ she should walk! global warmings killing us and your too busy taking a bus to school? ] 
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends (My friends) - [ well ofcourse you will catch a bus at a 'bus' stop, her friends? do they just appear out of Gandalf's as*hole, where do these kids come from?! ]

Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend - [ I give up, she's hopeless, as much as I try, these lyrics make no sense, they suck at every epileptic level and repeat themselves more times than a kid who's on a sugar rush. To give any commendation to these lyrics would be equal to sitting beneath a gorillas bottom taking its sh*t on your face and still smiling. ]

Bands that are underrated ... "Saving Abel"

Another 'underrated bands section' is here, this time its the band "Saving Abel". This is a band that began in 2004 and has released 2 rockin' albums. Their music is quite good but the band has only hit a couple high chart positions and has not gained a lot of sales. Here are Saving Abel's albums and my favourite song from each album:

Saving Abel: A self titled album, it did give the band some mainstream success due to their song 'Addicted'. Which is my favourite song from this album.

Miss America: Okay I am going to be brutally honest here, this album disappointed me. I thought that this band was going to go very far after hearing their first album but the second album did not hit a high note. It might be because I am not from America and the band has a lot of America related patriotism in their songs. The album was good, just good. The song I really liked from the second album is 'The Sex is Good'.

                                                        

Disturbed might break up

Oh noooo! Disturbed one of the coolest modern heavy metal bands might break up, this was hinted by the main vocalist David Draiman as he said that the bands next US tour might be their last one indefinitely. This hints that their band might break up.

Personally I like the band disturbed and hope that this doesn't happen, we need good metal bands these days as the genre is not as popular, especially good bands like disturbed. My favourite disturbed song is "Another Way To Die"

Okay now we all know some people (ahem Justin beiber) have gotten very famous after starting off in youtube. Well good for you Justin but I personally believe that there are some artists who are so much more talented and deserve recognition badly. One of them is this amazing guitarist who makes covers for all types of songs and does amazing covers, he also has his own songs which are great. He is the one and only Igor Presnyakov! Bands that are underrated ... "Staind"

Okay here is another "underrated bands" section. This time its the band Staind. This is a band that started off with making a heavy metal album called "Tormented" (Don't listen to it, sucks in my opinion), the album was hated by a lot of people and the album art even disgusted the singer of linkin park. Why am I posting this band in this section? Because their next 5 albums have kicked soo much 'post grunge' a** that I cant stop listening to them! They seriously ROCK!

Bands that are underrated ...

This is a new thing ill be doing for a while where I list bands and they're albums which are all kicka** but unheard of due to unpopularity.

This week or so I'm talking of the band called "Black Stone Cherry".This band is a band that formed in 2001 and made 3 albums. I personally love the albums that they have released and would recommend people to check their albums out.

Metal: A Head-bangers Journey Documentary Review

Metal: A Head-bangers Journey is a documentary following the history of metal and the controversy behind it. This is truly the documentary all metal-heads need to watch as it does show interviews and opinions of people like Dee snider all the way to Ronnie James Dio.

The documentary was created by an average metal music fan who describes his journey into metal from the beginning of his teenage till his current 'head-banging' state. The documentary first delves into the history of metal and its origin which is very interesting and provides good general knowledge. In the next part, the documentary talks about why people like metal and the connection people can have with it. The singer from Slipknot shares his personal insight on this topic and I absolutely loved his opinion and insight on why people (including him) like metal. This part did bring up very interesting thoughts and made enormous amounts of sense to me, I personally loved this part.

The next parts of the documentary, the documentary delves into the controversy behind metal. The opinions and personal stories provided by many artists (especially the singer from twisted sister) were amazing.

All in all, this is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen and you could say that this is because of my interest in metal music. No that is not the only reason why I love this. This documentary deals with ideas of stereo typing, isolation, teenage depression, societies forced rules upon you and many more. All those ideas have interesting points made about them and it surprised me when a guy with a leather mask on and long black hair with make-up on made valid points about stereotyping and society (it was slipknots singer). This is a must watch for all metal fans and even others who might be interested in the other topics listed in this review.

I give this documentary 9 electric guitars out of 10

Top 5 Catchiest Cartoon Theme Songs

Do you ever have that one test where you cant concentrate because your mind keeps singing a cartoon theme song, I know last maths test all I could do was sing "Transformers, more than meets the eye". Well this is my personal list of cartoon theme songs that are extremely catchy and if watched in your childhood, will haunt you in every test you ever do.

#5 Inspector Gadget

This theme songs catchy music and "inspector gadget" line haunts me whenever I need to concentrate. 

#4 Teenage mutant ninja turtles

Only one line "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" repeated a hundred times mixes with the music and permanently tattoo's itself into our brains memory. 

#3 Transformers

Okay one of the main reasons we liked this theme song was to hear the robotic voice in the second verse say "robots in disguise", that voice was freaking cool and till this day we all try to imitate it.

#2 Pokemon

This theme song, one of the only theme songs for which I know all the lyrics to and I wont be forgetting the lyrics anytime soon cause pokemon has honestly imprinted itself into my permanent memory. 

#1 Captain Planet 

This theme song by far has the worst lyrics I have ever heard. I remember when I was a kid and the only show that aired during 7-7:30 was captain planet and so I painfully watched it, slowly growing a soft spot for its boring humour and weird topic choices *they did an episode on aids and safe sex, on a children's cartoon*. Anyway's, this theme song took me years to understand the lyrics, all these years I was singing this theme song every test I had without even knowing the proper lyrics. That just proves to me that Captain Planet's theme song has been the most impact-full and catchy for me.
