Playstation Pass?

The SONY playstation pass is beginning this year with the release of Resistance 3, what it does is it disallows people who buy the game used to play online on the game. So for the online features of the game you have to buy it new or buy the PSN pass for the game. Ahhh SONY wanna make some money now ehh ? to be honest this is stupid, why do consumers have to pay for an extra pass when they buy a game used? Instead the shop "e.g. HMV" which sells the game used should have to pay a fee to the creators of the game, this way it would be more fair and wouldn't rip off the customers.
